We strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ
We strive to put our faith into action to share the good news of love and hope of Jesus Christ in our community and beyond. Here are ways we currently do so, and we are always looking for new ideas!
Share a Meal Food Pantry
Our food pantry serves those in need in the Tabernacle community and beyond. The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. every Wednesday. Call the Food Pantry directly at 609-535-5724 for information. If you would like to support babies in need, donations of diapers and wipes are always welcome for our pantry family. Let’s keep this spirit of giving alive!
Kids ROC! After school program throughout the school year with a focus on introducing children to Christ. Food, games and homework help. This community outreach is open to any and all kids in the local schools. Children are picked up from Tabernacle Elementary, Tabernacle Middle and other local schools (when requested) and take them back to Tabernacle United Methodist Church. There the children get:
One-on-one homework
After school snacks
Active games (inside or outside depending on the weather)
Periodic craft projects
Christian life lesson the kids can apply to their own lives
Kid friendly dinner
Our hours are 3pm – 6pm (unless half day sessions apply) while the cost is a nominal $5 per week per child. Our goal is to allow our families to have one evening a week that they can just enjoy spending a little time with their children without the stress of homework and dinner. If you are interested in this ministry (either to volunteer to help or have your children attend) please contact us at [email protected] or by phone at 609-268-0200. For phone messages, please leave your name, phone number and your interest.
